"The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital."

Xconditioning is all about success through specific training. Xconditioning uses a combination of weight training, speed and agility training, and conditioning to create the biggest, strongest, fastest and most in-shape athletes in the athletic world today! We use power-based training principles to increase the size, strength, and explosiveness of all of our athletes. Our no-frills training approach is based around progressive overload (getting stronger over time), and is centered around what we refer to as “the big three” - squatting, bench pressing, and deadlifting. We teach our athletes to perform all exercises in a safe and biomechanically correct fashion, and push them to maximize their potential through gut-busting effort. Our floor work training including plyometrics, agility training, sled training and sprinting, just to name a few. Xconditioning athletes are also well-conditioned athletes, and tire-flipping, sled dragging, interval training, and sprinting are just a few of the tools we use to get you into game shape.

The X Conditioning difference:

The difference with Xconditioning and other competitors is that Xconditioning walks the walk. We are still active in our sport and compete at the National level every year in powerlifting. We also still hold Provincial and National records in our sport that hopefully will be intact for a while. This consistent competition allows us to refine and manipulate our training to get the best strength gains we can, and to transfer that experience over to our athletes. In order to compete against National lifters and be successful, our drive and work ethic has to be incomparable - which is what we teach our athletes. A trainer who is not strong cannot successfully teach strength, the same as a trainer has never had to develop speed cannot successfully teach speed. Our athletes’ success is taken seriously, and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Weight Training:
Much of Xconditioning athletes’ success is centered around our specific weight training. Everything our athletes do is based on building explosive strength - a valuable tool that every athlete in every explosive sport needs. Increasing the strength and explosiveness in the muscles, joints, and tendons will increase an athletes size, strength, start and stopping speed, jumping ability, balance, and overall athleticism. At Xconditioning, we use straight weight, bands, and chains to accelerate weight training and accommodate resistance. We focus on the “big” exercises (squats, bench presses, and deadlifts), and use accessory work to eliminate weak spots and improve the overall strength of the athlete. Xconditioning athletes are bigger, stronger, and faster, and the results are second to none. There are no frills and no fancy machines here, just big strength gains and incredible results.

Speed and Agility Training:
SPEED is the ability to achieve a high velocity. AGILITY is the ability to explosively stop, start and change direction. These two components are necessities for athletic performance in all sports and are part of Xconditioning’s ground-based speed and agility programs. We use bands, sleds, cones, ladders, hurdles, as well as plyometric boxes and many other tools to improve an athlete’s coordination, balance, speed, starting, stopping, direction-changing abilities, and overall athletic movements.

Conditioning:

Athletes of all shapes and sizes need to be in shape. Period. An out of shape athlete is an unsuccessful athlete, and something that Xconditioning refuses to produce. All of our athletes are conditioned through interval training, circuit training, and sprints. We make sure that athletes are in game-shape on game-day.

Progressive Programming:

As competitive athletes ourselves, we understand the need for progressive programming. Offseason training is different from in-season training, and even early offseason training is different from late offseason training. As the athlete gets closer to his/her camp or tryouts our training focus changes from strictly stronger to stronger and faster. Along with weight training on training days, our athletes also incorporate speed work and conditioning into their training. This becomes progressive training which will peak the athlete for a specific weekend or week which is the focus of their offseason training. Our focus and priority at Xconditioning is to prepare the athlete beyond where they have to go to compete within their sport or camp. This involves getting the most out of our athletes during the offseason.

Working with our athletes:

Xconditioning understands the importance of team support. We work hard to keep open and healthy relationships with players and their respective teams/coaching staffs. We employ our principles for our athletes, and work with coaches on team-specific testing, areas of improvement, and overall performance. The more feedback we can get, the more successful our athletes are. We are in this for the success of our athletes.
